I work full time as an Activity Director in the Alzheimers Unit at a nursing home. All my residents are in their 80s and 90s, and are in end stage Alzheimers. DURING ONE TWENTY MINUTE CONVERSATION WITH ONE PERSON, I may be talking to a very nice elderly gentleman who likes to dance, an elderly man who wants to do nothing but stay in bed, an elderly man who used to be a fighter pilot, an elderly man who knows nothing about jets, an elderly man who tells me his wife's name, an elderly man who isn't married, an elderly man who plays golf, an elderly man who has never played golf, and an elderly man that asks for milk and chocolate cookies, but asks who they are for, two minutes later, when presented with milk and chocolate cookies
Every hour of every day of every week
is more humbling than the one before.

There has been a lot of them but one that comes to mind is when I had just received my driver's license and I went to the art store. I tried to park my car in a very small space and realized the second I did it what a stupid idea it was. I tried to back out of the space and there was literally 6 inches of space between my car and the car next to me. A family of asians just stared at me as I grew more and more frustrated trying to back out of the spot but no one came to help : )
10- 15 minutes later I managed to get out of the spot without a scratch but my ego was severely bruised and I left without buying the posterboard I came for.

Taking small children to a Nursing Home on Christmas to sing for the residents there!!
The smiles on their faces....I will never forget!!!â¥

I used to brag on my ex, telling people he wouldn't do me dirty even though we weren't together. It turns out that the people I was talking to were the same people he had a fling with. I never open my mouth about him again.

a friend of mine confined to a wheelchair had terrible very degrading accident in her room. She called me for help

Trying to talk my best friend out of trying to kill herself. I was scared to death that she would do it anyway. She didn't but we still have to keep an eye on her,
