I think the US and many other cultures are violent. It's not just the US, but that does not make it right. Rape, murder, and hate has been around for centuries, unfortunately. But the US is still one of the most violent cultures, violent even though we are not in a civil war, and don't have other countries armies in our country. We have the most people in prison in the world, over 2 million, yet we still can't stop the killing and rape and incest and beating.
I think we have to change our families, and combine teaching respect as well as implement prevention: stop the abuse and neglect of our children and stop giving neglected and abused children to other people to be further abused. Teach young adults how to treat each other with respect, how to deal with conflict without violence and stop the battering and rape of partners, so another generation of children don't think this is a "normal family".
At school, make it a no violence tolerance zone. Teach respect, civil language, and stop the bullying and beating and hazing of children in the early grades; so the violence doesn't escalate in the later grades. Treat the crazy kids, don't just assume they'll grow out of it. If children are hurting animals, hurting other children, they're sick and need treatment, and need to be taken away from anything and anyone they can harm.
A majority of the violence that is perpetuated is committed when adults are drunk. For chronic drunks, lock em up and throw away the key. They are the menace to society. The older generation loves their booze and lets drunks do whatever they want to our society. It's got to be changed.
Finally, when people are poor and watch others around them with money and things they can never have, you're going to create angry resentful people. It's a joke that anyone can succeed in this country, if you're born poor, grow up poor, have poor medical and educational access, you'll probably stay poor. Give people a real chance-give them the opportunity to learn in a safe environment, with the tools all other children have: food, warmth, shelter, medicine. Basing educational funding on property taxes is the most classist, unfair system implemented in this country. It makes sure the poor, remain poorly educated, and have no hope.

extra Police and harsher sentences won't do any reliable, it's going to easily convey approximately a Police State. you are able to desire to purpose for replace whilst they are youthful and instill a favorable attitude. i think of a extensive ingredient is all the violence on television and in video games. i've got heard, from a pal who teaches toddlers, that as youthful as 9 they are gazing video clips like 3 hundred. little doubt this would fairly warp their state of strategies. With video games, i understand that once taking part in BurnOut or Grand robbery motor vehicle i'm getting the urge to force great speedy whilst i'm on the line, and that i'm nicely out of my teenage years, so think of how this impacts toddlers. we want a greater, beneficial parental impact. large brother classes are a actual reliable thought if a discern is absent.

Our culture glories violence even as we worry about it. Movies and television display violence as a romantic and positive ideal. We socialize our children to believe that violence is appropriate punishment through our history of wars and through corporal punishment. When you look through history, you'll see that the violence is not new but is just more visable. You'll also see that many people resort to violence when they feel like they are backed into a corner with no options. Its impossible to find one reason why, but it is possible to help. Find a class at your local college that talks about non-violence and you'll learn all types of ways to help prevent violence.
