how can you find out the population in Numinbah Valley (upper catchment of nerang river)area?? compare with the lower catchment, is the lower catchment of nerang river is the downtown of gold coast??

Most countries have detailed census information that you can access or query quite easily. Depending on the size of the area you are talking about, there is probably information on population by census district, province/state, city, town, municipality etc..I would imagine where you live the same would be true.

Where I live, another way to find out approximately how many people are in an area is by postal route. It gives you a great idea about number of households, if not actual number of people.
