your aspire 9300 should already have 802.11b/g, wich means it has Wireless built in(if its a laptop)

all you need is Wireless Router (you internet service provider might supply them or you can buy one)

when you have a wireless router you can connect any Wireless computers to it, you can use a LAN cable to connect it to your desctop computer
wireless adapter is only needed for computers that dont have build in wireless unless you use a cord

router usually has 4 hubs so you can connect 4 computers with a cord

Well I have wireless internet in my dining room and i have a cable hooked up to a cable modem and the cable modem is hooked up to a wireless brodband router and you have to make sure that your laptop has a wireless card or if wireless is built in to your laptop. But they can't get wireless internet from your laptop. They can only get wireless if they have a computer within range to your wireless brodband router.

You will need to buy a wireless router, and attach your cable to the router. At this point everyone who wants to connect will also need a wireless adapter card, to communicate with your wireless router.
