I've been working at wal-mart for over 2 years now. I've recently been moved over to the cash office for two days a week! I normally work the service desk. Just recently, I've had to work several days in the office due to another employee going on vacation. Now, I dont understand that they dont have anyone else to replace her and also that it seems this is billion dollar industry and they lack employees all the time. Anyway, without any notice, they scheduled me to work in there to replace her which will entitle me to be at work at 6 am every morning for a week and again I only work 2 days out of week. So you figure, now about 7 days straight and I'm already not getting the pay that the people in the cash office get. I feel used and I still get the pay that a normal cashier would be getting. My next step is to call home office management and complain but is there any other things I can do. The people there act like they cant control it but I think thats all jibberish and its a secret.

DO YOU THINK WORKING IN A CASH OFFICE (ACCOUNTING) DESERVES MORE PAY? WHY?
YOU ARE STILL GETTING PAID AND NO HASSLE ON THE SALES FLOOR.
IT'S A CHANCE TO SHOW YOUR SUPERVISORS YOU ARE VERSATILE IN WORK.

MAY MEAN ADVANCEMENT.

CALL HOME OFFICE--AS YOUR SUP I WOULD TERMINATE YOU ON THE SPOT.

Not sure about Wal-Mart but I can give a good rule of thumb. If you work with a lot of cash usually they get paid a lot or very well. The reason for this is you going to take you need to take a lot and that they can find out and catch you.

If you make 25k a year taken 30-40 bucks every day you might be able to hide and get a way with it. If some one makes 50k pulse then they need to steel several hundreds to make a dent and that they can find. I hope you get the idea.

Sound like you are trust worthy honest yet still have some more the learn, Best of Luck

Wow!!! what a complainer!!!
Really, I didn't see it that way like you do-sorry!!!

To work somewhere for two years that you could call a worker-not a new worker in the company. You should be proud of yourself that Walmart trust you with their customers and their money. Good worker is hard to find. What do you think they will do with all the new girls they just hire if those original girls come back!!! Some people do take a vacation when it has been given by the boss. Hang around and be happy that they moving you around. Someday you might appreciate Walmart for not give you the same boring job for years to come. Some people die to have your job at the boarder.

The only good thing about working in the Walmart cash office is the experience so that at the first available position somewhere else opens up you take it. Walmart gives no respect to accounting associates even though they handle thousands of dollars a day. Especially bad is management that allows to many employees in the cash office, if there ever is a time when money is missing the accounting associate will be the first to blame and/or have to explain. Do not work in an office with no monitoring cameras, verify that they are even turned on, they may be the only thing that saves you.
