If you want to enter politics, the military isn't a requirement. Get your degree in business or economics, with a minor in political science. A law degree would be a real plus. Be active in local politics, maybe even run for city council. Get your face out there. Make some money. You have to be well-known in order to be elected to public office. Usually people start at the city council level, state representative, senate, re-election, then governor somewhere in the future. You can get married anywhere along this timeline - the point is to build a successful career for yourself BEFORE seriously considering entering politics, and then do it only if you feel you can make a beneficial difference with the ideas and talents you bring to the position you are running for.

If your interested in a career in politics you'll need a college degree and time in the air force. Go to college and then enlist as an officer. You will still be young enough to marry AND follow through with your career goals. GOOD LUCK !

I wouldn't recommend the military to get into politics.

I would recommend studying political science and/or law.

That way you will learn quite fast whether you really like it or not.
