Does mind go into overdrive.I can be shattered all day,Like crying out for sleep. As soon as my head hits the pillow,my mind starts going mad and then I can't sleep at all.
Does anyone experience this?
Why does it happen when we go to bed?

My mind goes on overdrive everytime, but most esp. when I'm fixing to sleep. I could be in bed, so very sleepy..and yet sleep eludes me coz my mind is busy fantasizing, imagining and daydreaming. Supposedly, it happens at bedtime coz that's when we're trying to shut off all systems but some simply refuse to quit. When this happens I just get up again and just answer more questions here at Y!A till my eyes are too heavy I could barely see the keys.
I really envy those who could fall asleep as soon as they hit the pillows.

My mind definitely goes into overdrive just as I lay down to sleep. Like others have said, probably because our mind has been freed up from all the stuff that we did during the day. But even with sleeping aids, I still can't get to sleep.

Hell yes, it happens all the time. I think it's because we don't have a lot of time in our busy day to stop and think really but when we lay down to sleep we aren't doing anything and our mind is used to having to do stuff and it makes your mind wander

this happens to me all the time.. because i have work that hasnt finished or have too many things to do.. or a lot of responsibility..
then i have thunder in my head.. cant sleep, cant open my eyes but just think!!!
made me crazy! the best thing to do is drink some herbal tea before going to bed..camomile is good for relaxing mind.. or get some herbal medicine to improve your sleeping quality.. that works too..

it happens to me all the time i'm stressed alot and can't ever be fully relaxed. I think the reason it happens is we actually have the time to fully think about it when the head does hit the pillow

Yes it happens to all of us.
A word to the wise: try not to dwell on things at night. They always seem worse then.
The morning brings sunshine and a new start.

That happens to me all the time and it's quite often upsetting stuff.
I don't know why it happens but i wish it didn't! Maybe it's because are minds aren't occupied with other stuff?

Happens to me alot. I guess it happens at night because during the day we have so many other things to occupy our time and keep our minds from wandering...
