You will save a lot of money if you avoid special events, large conventions and weekends, they drive room rates very high.
If you can be flexible, there are some pretty good rates from May 28th until June 22nd then again from July 15th to the 27th, for the best deals go during December the room rates from the 9th until the 28th are the lowest of the year.

I think "shafted" means the Plaza, since he mentions the Center Stage restaurant.
We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. >Feel free to e-mail me through YA with the amenities you're interested in. Keep in mind that If you can go Sunday through Thursday and be flexible on the dates you will get a much nicer hotel at a much lower price<

Uncle Wayne, Come on now. I've performed roofing, A rectangular of shingles will price you round $forty and a couple of kilos of roofing tacks one other $three, It'll take you round two hours to re-roof a rectangular of shingles. Do em each and give up yer whining. LOL Brighest Blessings, Raji the Green Witch PS, a rectangular of shingles is a ten x 10 foot phase. You should check on this as it has been a long time, but in old downtown las vegas by the freemont street experience there is a casino/hotel called the palace, there they have a resturaunt called centerstage... You have a awsome view of freemont st. show, this cost about 50.00 bucks I enjoyed it as much as my 300.00 dining at the mirage. However for accomdations mirage was my personal fav. and they have good deals.

The best deal off the Strip is the Las Vegas Hilton. If you look around in your town there are junkets that fly there weekly for really cheap. Otherwise you can go to www.expedia.com pick dates, and times. Then go to www.priceline.com, and bid 40% off the expedia quote.

Stratosphere& Excalibur have good deals if your budget are limited. They are not bad, just a bit older.
But if you willing to spend more, there are tons of amazing hotels that will make your wife happy. Belagio, Venetian, Mandala Bay etc etc.....
