1) Okay, instead of drinks, go to V Cirace & Son on North Street - amazing wine selection - lots of wine tasting available. It's a fun and funky place to check out.
2) I've been to both Bricco's (okay) and Il Panino (better), but I've been totally hooked on Ricardo's on North Street lately - home made pastas, awesome red sauce...lamb chops, seafood - all excellent!
3) Vittoria's Caffe is a must - I'd say get your dessert there too - they have terrific Napoleans and Tiramisu
4) Modern Pastry is where I'd get something to bring home. To me they are much better than Mike's Pastry. Mike's is good, but is not as good as Modern
5) Wrap up your evening w/drinks - head to Fiore's (on Hanover St) for a drink.

There aren't many places that have a full bar in the North End, I would recommend going to faneuil and walking over after. I would also recommend Dolce Vida, its a great place for dinner! Bricco is amazing too, good choice.

I agree with the above poster- you are better off starting in Fanueil Hall and walking over to the North End. Try the Purple Shamrock.

Hey, you can purchase drinks almost anywhere EXCEPT when it comes to Sunday's. On Sunday's, you can buy drinks at any restaurant that you order food from.
