Take my advice as a former teenager. A teen boy's first car should never be a sporty car. It should be a dull as dishwater vastly underpowered car.
Why do I say this? In high school, many of my friends had cool cars. Every one of them that had a Mustang, Camaro, etc. wrecked their first cars. They didn't have the coordination or experience to drive those well.
I on the other hand had a 1979 Ford Pinto. This gutless car had no performance, and thus I never pushed it. There was no point, because even if I pushed it, it wouldn't perform. I had that car for 10 years, and learned to drive in a non-aggressive manner, at slower speeds. Those driving habits have served me well in life.
Get yourself a 4 cylinder Ford Focus or some such. It'll be cheaper and teach you better driving habits that will last you a life time. And if you wreck it, oh well, it's only a cheap Ford.

yea i'm in high school right now...didn't get a car til i was almost 17. These people are right. sports car are cool, but as a fellow high school student i would imagine that you probably dont have much money so you'll be spending it on gas and you dont need a high maintenance sports car to use up all your money. i first got a '95 toyota t-100, does well and i liked it because it was stick shift. If i were you, look for something cheap and foreign. american cars are luxurious but dont last as long. toyotas are good and hondas too. i got mine for $1500 and if you like sporty look for a manual transmission. you can have loads of fun on that. and insurance is costly on sports cars so at this stage you are better getting something else.

At your age, dont even think about a sports car. Insurance rates are going to be murder with a sports car, and quite simply, noone needs a sports car. Think sedan with 4 doors to haul things or people when needed, and be smart about your life.
Good luck.

If your looking at used cars check out the Toyota Celica. That is a sweet car that has good gas milage (for a sports car), and will last for a while. I think they stopped making them in 2005 so you would have to buy it used.

Whatever you do, don't get a new car cause you're gonna bang it and scratch it soon or later. You can get a new car after you've driven your first car for a while. Also if you wanna get a mustang, get the smaller engine. del sol is fine.

so a strategies as i comprehend, whoever "hits" has the legal duty or is "at fault". In different words, coverage organizations and regulation enforcements standpoint is, "if you're following each and each and every of the guidelines of the line and safe practices, there is rarely any reason to hit something." Now, if there became ice on the line, that ought to atleast make issues lean better on your favor, yet i imagine you'll have a photo taken that day of the stretch of highway you slid on. it really is why they say you need to always have atleast a disposable digicam on your vehicle to take a photo of an twist of destiny and twist of destiny scene on the day of the twist of destiny, alongside with a cellular telephone, your coverage options, motive force's license and registration. with any luck you've vehicle coverage that ought to pay even no matter if it is your fault, or if no longer, quite some acquaintances and relatives which could also help you in this time of disaster. there is quite some different aspects to consider: became both of the drivers using at the same time as impaired, or in a hurry, did both leave the scene of the twist of destiny before regulation enforecement arrived, what type of automobiles were in touch, did both have vehicle coverage-dl license-registration-etc... So with any luck, perchance there is different aspects that are on your favor right here. In both case, that's a take-heed call to alwayschronic adequately and defensively and keep as a lot area between you and different transferring automobiles or products as a threat, have a seat belt on, and haven't any distractions like listening to the radio, eating, ingesting, speaking on a cellular telephone, etc... i comprehend all this because i have been using for years now, and characteristic only been in some injuries. In each and every twist of destiny except one, someone hit me and for some reason none of them even had a motive force's license!!!! in the twist of destiny the position I hit someone, I rear ended someone, only like you probably did. So considering the fact that I "hit", it became my fault, although the vehicle in the front of me stopped short and rather quick, no longer giving me any time to end. the only element that kept me became that the vehicle I hit left the scene of the twist of destiny, and, from what I understand, it became some type of coverage scam on the element of the different motive force.

Yup...u better go for a 4 cylinder vehicle. If you like Japanese vehicles, might I suggest a late model Mazda Protege. I know its not much to look at, but it is a reliable, durable and cost effective (both in terms of fuel and maintenance costs) . Its a perfect student vehicle.
