Freedom of speech is fine. He can say whatever he wants to say, you are exactly right. But the network has the freedom of expression and they exercised it. He is not going to jail or anything.

Do not put everybody in the same boat please. The thing is he insulted women and black people. As a woman, you should be offended that someone is running around calling any woman a ho.

Some idiot, that gets thier personality from a wrinkled up prune may do that. How would you like for everyone now to start addressing you as that. As a woman, I would not.

He demeaned two groups of people in one statement. Plus he showed little to no remorse. Unlike Michael Richards which flew off the handle. He seemed genuine in his apology. Imus looked like he could care less, but just saying words.

Do you think that anyone could get away with calling someone a ho? Come on now. I have seen black men call a black woman a ho and nearly have thier eyes scratched out.

This is my problem with all of these race questions. The Black race has had to fight a very long time, and we still do. When we are done wrong, we stand up and fight as we should. If you or any other race feel that you have been so wronged, stand up and fight. That does not mean using racial hate as a means, it means standing up and saying that it is not appropiate. Believe it or not, the majority of the black community would stand behind that.

I really do not believe that a newscaster could stand up and call a group of white women, Cr***er hos and get away with it. Come on now, stop grasping at straws.

Imus is no victim. He is a man, let him be a man and fight this battle. He was wrong period.

Unless you are black, hispanic or some other minority you havent got a chance these days!!!!!! White people can be called "crackers" or some other racial slur and nothing happens but let a white person call a non white person a n i g g e r or some other racial slur and we get sued or the NAACP or Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, stick their noses in and come running to the rescue. Its a dayum shame too. There are all black colleges, but let there be an all white college and see how well that would be taken. It wouldn't be and it wasn't. UH wasn't that what the blacks wanted back in the 60s, segregation?????? Now don't you wish the SOUTH would've won????? I do!!!

I disagree. Remember the Kobe Bryant case, he lost most- if not all of his sponsors when it was alleged that he may have raped that white girl. And I know rape and slanders are two totally different cases, its just injustice knows no color. And I feel that this is more of a sexist issue than race, race does play a part but I find it more sexually degrading than racially. Because there are white people on the team as well, and to call future leaders of America, headstrong, B average or higher holding women "ho's" twice without even considering their status is sexist. And Honestly, I think everyone is blowing it way out of proportion. I feel as though nobody should have said anything about it. Then the team’s victory time would have gone by fine without Imus or the media. If everybody just acknowledged he’s a bigot and not cared, and instead putting his words on a pedestal the team's time would have been joyous. There are Pros and Cons of the freedom of speech right. And with that right we need to understand what words really are; cheap. It’s up to the person to take offense, and by giving Imus all this publicity is giving him too much power for his cheap words. We can't change everybodies mindset about sex or race... The most we can do is acknowledge the idiots for who they are tell them what we think; pray that life some how changes their mindset, and keep on truckn'. But all this publicity and media coverage is getting out of hand.

If he was a politician or a clergymen or a teacher or someone in an important position in society I would look down upon him...but the man is a controversial radio talk show host so I really don't think anything bad of him.

What he said was messed up but people need to get over it. He's a talk show host for crying out loud, his job is to offend and stir up people, that how he gets listeners!

...to the lady that compared Imus to Kobe Bryants rape case....please don't compare a violent rape crime to something that rappers get paid millions to say about themselves.

When will rappers learn that they are the ones giving us permission to use such words. They get paid million, Imus gets fired!
