I would have done what Joe did, take the money, and play your best.

The weird thing about Joe Jackson being accused of throwing the World Series is that he actually played quite well during those games.I would not throw the game.I would care too much about the fans my teamates and the city I represent to do it.

This is an interesting question. From what I know of what happened I think I would of. I think the owner was more to blame in this situation than any of the players were. He was cheap and treated all of them like crap. If it was as bad as the movie protrays then I think I would of taken the money and done the exact same thing. If I knew all of the facts my answer could change, but from what I do know I would of said screw you Comiskey and taken the money....

Yes bc the World Series didn't mean as much then and Comiskey payed his players just enough to live and support their families. He ripped them off big time!

I would like to think no, but in reality Commie didn't pay his guys, with a month left in the season he would sit a 29 win pitcher so he didn't have to pay a 30 win bonus.

Furthermore, the mob was so powerful and violent in those days that yeah I would have.

Take the money and try to win the series. I think thats what most athletes do when they are in these scandles. (mcpherson, Rose etc.)
