The cost of living has been out of control these past 30 years. The housing market in some areas has eaten into over 50% of the income of the folks that are considered middle class. Medical costs are also to blame. Then, the employment sector in the U.S. has moved from well paying industrial jobs to service sector occupations. This has affected the income that the middle class has relied on during the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Lastly, the tax code has improved but the middle class is still paying an unfair amount of taxes. The rich benefit from a lot of loopholes.
So, to answer your question, I believe that the economy and tax laws are to blame but its up to each American to find a way to improve their condition and take advantage of what the United States has to offer. Therefore, it is right because it's part of life. There will always be winners and losers.

It doesn't seem right because it isn't true. Tax brackets are set up so that those who pay taxes contribute a proportionally equal amount to the "financial burden" of the United States. The reason why the Middle Class contributes the majority is because MOST OF THE COUNTRY is considered to be in the middle and upper middle classes. Naturally, our contribution will be a large part of our federal revenue.
However, electing Dems didn't help the issue considering they are already try to find a way to undermine the tax cuts that we have all been enjoying for the past 7 years. Dems love to increase taxes.

It is and it isn't.
The financial tax burden is hardest on the working middle class as they spend a larger portion of their money and have less to play with.
However the majority of taxes are paid by the super rich. They bicker about it as it cuts into their play money big time.

The financial burden is on every class. Remember that income tax is not the tax we pay. There is a multitude of taxes we citizens pay.
