i have a 2000 toyota corolla wit 17x7.5 " rims and the front wheels r fine but the back hit my fender when i have people sitting in the back seat i was thinking about gettin lowering springs b/c that stiffens up the suspension n the car body wont be going up n down n it wont move when people sit . i jus took my system out thinking it was too heavy bc wit the system in there it would scrape even wit jus 2 people in it do u think getting coil overs or lowering springs will help it

Could the rear wheels have the wrong offset? If the wheels were deeper into the wheel well would they still hit the sides of the fender? You might want to go to a smaller wheel tire combo if necessary.

installing lowering sprrings will make the problem much worse. you need heavier stronger springs and shocks to get the body away from the wheels, or go back to what was originally installed on the car. pay attention to what the manufacturer says can be put on the rear axle for weight loading, the maximum amounts will be posted on the drivers door pillar near the latch. small cars like what you have are simply not built for heavy loads without paying a penalty.

Lowering the car is not going to help. Here's an idea. But the correct size wheels and tires back on the car. Problem solved.

It could be one of 3 things shocks/struts/tires Check your door jam for the correct tire size that belongs on the car... .

cheap and easy fix place some blocks in the springs to raise the vehicle can get them at autozone or a custom rim shop

Coil-overs will stiffen it up, but look at trimming excess "lip" from the inner wheelwell. Coat it after the trim to keep it from rusting.

it will help,, but make sure that you buy stif ones, and dial them in tight. also try getting spacers for ur rear shocks, theyll help rear ride higher, eliminating the problem rather inexpensively. if you do lower the car, like i said, stiffies are best

your tires are a little to wide they rub on the inside of the fender maybe you can trim the inside of he fender or make it a 2 seater

get a pair of air shocks for the rear and use them when someone is going to ride in the back.
