how does a 13 year old girl convince her parents for her to get a lip ring? what can she say that is "positive" about it so her parents feel more comfortable about the idea? example: lip rings do come out. i need more though, please help

tell your parents that they should be proud of u for coming to them & asking permission, instead of doing something crazy like doing it yourself, or having a friend do it, then ending up with a possible mis-placed piercing, infection, etc...tell them u will only go to a reputable piercer & then follow all the after-care instructions to ensure u don`t have problems...tell them u are willing to pay for it yourself, or at least pay for part of it...tell them u have thought about it carefully & u are not doing it on a whim, or just to fit "in" or just to be "cool"...tell them it is better to want a piercing, than being a teenager sneaking around & using drugs, drinking, or having unsafe sex...good luck!!!

Yes tell them that they do come out and it beats getting a tattoo
Tell them that it's something you really want and want it to be different
Tell them youve done alot of reaserch about lip rings and that they're really safe and that nothing can go wrong if u get it done by a professional piercer.
You can offer to pay for it or tell them that it can be ur birthday present

Yes a lip ring does come out but it's very pain ful for the first week and then if you ever decided you no longer want it you will have a scare for the rest of your life. Plus your 13, even with parents consent I don't think you can get it done. I wouldn't get it if I were you. Try getting your nose pierced instead.

Not only can they scar and get really ugly when infected but they can also do permanent damage to both your gums and your teeth. I would really think twice before a piercing in your lip. If you still really want it just wait until you are 18.

why don't you get one ofthe clip ons and wear it for a while to be sure. i had an eyebrow ring and my belly button pierced when i was younger, the eyebrow ring came out in a matter of months because it got on my nerves and my bf did not like it, my belly ring left a horrible scar when i was older and had my children. i would thinkit over, seriously

you can get retainers to hide them when you dont want it to be seen, theres a plus.
tell them that it will improve your self esteem or something.

Don't do it. They leave really ugly scars and everyone will think of you as an outcast at school. I hope that your parents don't let you do it. Why would you want one? I've learned that to get attention at school you need to be HOT, and loud at school, but don't be obnoxious. Don't do it for the attention!!!!

don't do it, u will regret it when you get older. Do u go to public school, what do they teach you kids there? crazy. I am thirteen also and i say no.
