i just found my old flight simulator '98 and now i want to play it. when you take a trip from city to city, i dont know where i'm going. how do i know where to go? do they have markings that shows you the way, that would be very helpful.

All of these answers are non-professional. but true answer is this:
1st: you should choose the departure & arrival airport !
2nd: on the map or in the airport search-box find'em.
3rd: note the VOR frequency of both.
4th: enter them in the VOR frequency selector in the Radio ( in VOR1 & VOR2 )
5th: turn the OBS on VOR gage ( same you enter the arrival airport's frequency ) until the VERTICAL niddle aligns completly VERTICAL ( or up !!! ).
NOW, the heading that the VOR gage is showing you, is same heading that you should follow.

If I recall correctly, there should be a flight planner where you set up the start and ending airport. if you set it up you should have a line to follow in your GPS. There should also be a list of courses to follow in your flight plan if this is a VOR flight. I have not played FS98 in some years and do not recall the details of it.

Ok first you should have a map in the corner of your screen of not you have to go to options and view the thing then choose the map display

There is a buttong you press for GPS, it has detatils of where you are going.

Check your setup screen for which button that is.
