if gas is 2.63 a gallon what is the 9/10 for next to it?

if the fraction means that gas is 1/10 of a cent away from being one cent higher, why dont they just kick it up there?

It means another 9/10 of a cent per gallon. So, if the price is $2.639 it is actually a lot closer to $2.64, but everyone thinks it is 2.63 so they think it is cheaper.

they fraction is 9 tenths of a cent. So 2.63 9/10 is only 100th of a cent from 2.64.

the 9/10ths is of one cent. so if you are seeing 2.63 9/10 then its one tenth of a penny less than 2.64

it means the gas is really $2.63999999...... (repeating) its saying the gas is just barely 2.63 almost 2.64 a gallon
