There are many factors when considering to go in or out of state. Trust me, as a senior, I've been pining over this decision all year! Here are some of the things I looked and, plus some advice from others.

*Cost- In state could save potentially save you 10 grand a year. It depends on the out of state school you pick and how much the instate school costs, but that was the difference for me. I mean 40,000 dollars is a ton of money that could go towards other things such as a great master's degree.

*Location- An instate school will ultimatly be closer to your home. I live in CT and UCONN is the only decent in-state school. It's an hour away from my house which is far enough for me. I also looked at tons of other out of state schools which ranged from 1.5-7 hours away from my house. Whatever you do don't live at home, you won't get a full college experiance that way. My sister said that if you live away from home, no matter how far or close you will still get an experiance that is much different that living at home. You still have to do your own laundry if you live 30 or 300 miles away from home.

Hope I helped.

Going to out of state university just for "out of state experience" is silly. You'll be paying about 3 times as much for tuitions as an out-of-state students.

I'd only consider out of state universitites if the school in mind gives me something the other college can not.

I don't know what you mean by out-of-state experience.
You could pretend you cross a state border to get to school if you want - but go where the tuition is cheaper.
