I came up with a theory that these pains might be a weird side effect from birth control. I first complained of mild pain on the sides of my stomach-almost on my sides, a little over a year ago. I was on the pill at the time. My Dr. was horrible and just brushed it off and told me to come back if it got worse. She didn't bother to check into it at all.
The pains went away for about a year...coinciendally when I wasn't on the pill. Now I am on my 2nd month of birth control(Nuvaring) and the pains are back!

I can't find anything online that matches what I'm describing...do any of you know?

Don't take the pill if it is causing you problems! It's not for everyone, and there are other options if you are responsible, namely the Fertility Awareness Method (not the rhythm method). I use it and avoid sex for 7-8 days per 32 day cycle (when I am fertile), and then use condoms the rest of the time. No side effects of the pill, but I have to take my temp (1 minute per morning) and check my cervical fluid (really easy). Way worth it, especially if you have problems with the Pill.

Book reference --> Taking Charge of Your Fertility, by Toni Weschler

Incidently the book is good for getting pregnant and avoiding pregnancy too. You get to know your body super well, it's really interesting.

Yes, this could be related to the pill and now the ring. I would recommend getting a second opinion but preferably from a dr that is not in the same office with the dr that you currently see.

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant herehttps://tr.im/9Yh4b

workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.
