You may be too tense to insert the tampon. Try to relax.
Try inserting the tampon while sitting on the toilet, standing up with one leg on the toilet seat, or laying down. It may also be that you are too dry and the tampon will not slide easily.
It sounds like you are young and have not gone to gyn yet. If you are really concerned go to the doctor and have an exam done.
If you are young don't worry about sex just yet. If you are thinking of having sex go to the doctor and get check out 1st. This way you decide what type of birth control you would like to use. I recommend both condoms and the pill. This will protect you from getting an STD (condoms) and pregnant.
Plus the exam will check to make sure you are healthy.
But you need to relax. I am sure you are a healthy and will be able to have sex.

You can still have sex even though you cannot insert a tampon. The female body is curved inside. So make sure when you are trying to insert a tampon that you are curving it with your body. Some women just cannot wear them at all. But sex is totally different. Your body lubricates itself when it is stimulated for sex. Believe me the tampon thing has nothing to do with sex.

No, no need to worry. Imagine when you are pregnant and baby comes out, how big the baby is going to be? Hopefully bigger than Tampon or Penis. When you are aroused and get really wet down there, it would make easy for penis to penetrate, but tell him to insert it slow and experiment the angle with him. You can also buy a water base liquid to pour it in the area as penis go in. First time is quite scary, and you may not like it too much, but it will pass. Do not worry. You will learn to love sex and have orgasm, and pleasure...soon.

Some tampons are larger than others. Try to get a smaller size tampon instead. Or, see a doctor to see if your thing is the right size or if there's something wrong that's blocking it. And try to make his fit, it might. But for now, try to stay away from it and hope for the best anyways. Good luck!

I'm not a woman, so I don't know for sure about the tampon question. Get help from someone older, or see a doctor. Regarding first-time sex, if the guy knows good foreplay, you will be excited and ready to stretch to any size. Remember, women push babies out of there. You will definitely stretch to a large enough size to take a penis. Don't let the guy just ram it in though, make him work awhile at getting you excited. When you're nice and slippery, he can ease it in slowly.

Try using your fingers (lubricated) If you can get in with your fingers a guy will be able to get in too. It could just be because the tampon is dry it is not easily slipping past a bump. However if you should get a pap smear ( a test to make sure everything is o.k. down there) Girls are supposed to get them when they get there 1st period or by the time they turn 16.

I think it's your hymen that is blocking it from going in. But the male reproductive organ breaks the hymen when a woman has intercourse for the first time, so I think you'll be fine. I think that because the male reproductive organ is made of flesh it can fit in and break the hymen, but since a tampon can't fit you'll probably experience some bleeding when you lose your virginity.

I thought tampons were made for non virgins only... As far as anything bigger fitting in, a woman's vagina does lubricate and expand upon insertion of the pennis due to arousal.

Your probably nervous and not relaxing and that makes you tighten up, thats for the tampon. As for the sex when the time comes LUBE does wonders, especially the kind gives a warm sensation.

What kind of tampon are you using? It is probably due to dryness. Try inserting your finger and see what happens, not to be gross, but I would have checked that if a tampon didn't go in.
