I know that this is available in Japan, but has anybody heard of it anywhere else in the world?

The U.S. started this a couple years back. You can drop off a un-wanted baby at any Hospital,Police Station, Firestation, DHS office with no questions asked. This was to deter people from leaving babies in dumpsters to die.

Not a drop off hatch but there are hospitals that if you make arrangements will help you find someone to adopt your child, or there are orphanages, or other programs to get the child adopted.

We have them in the United States, they are called "safe havens". We have them at hospitals, fire stations, police stations and many many churches

I believe they have them in Germany,its so children don't get dumped and die.
