The north and south poles mark the end of the prime meridian (zero degrees longitude)....directly opposite the PM is the International Date Line at 180 degrees longitude.

The poles are the end points...however if you continue the line across the globe, it forms a perfect circle and there is no endpoint for a perfect circle.
