Why do people thumbs down someone's opinion?

I can see if it's an answer that's abusive or something..but if you like something that someone else doesn't like?? Wassup wit dat?

It's just silly..I picked from the option given (on a recent q) and I get tons of thumbs down..It's my OPINION..non offensive, and I answered the question! Hmmph

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! BUT YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE, IF YAHOO REMOVED THE RATING BOX, I'LL BET CHA IT'LL LOSE A LOT OF THE MEAN ,DIRTY DEALING MEMBERS TOO! THEY GET THEIR ROCKS OFF WITH THAT!

Usually I don't give thumbs down if it's merely a difference in oipinion, but I do when it's a difference in morals.

But you're right I find it very maddening when people thumbs down my perfectly good answer jsut because they don't like it.

I'm not sure.... it often makes me wonder as well. Often I will see every answer except one with a "thumbs down" and I wonder; do people answer a question... and then automatically "thumbs down" every other answer, just because?

i only put a thumbs down if its rude or crude or sometimes if the answers are way off the subject of the question!
other than that everyone is titled to there opinion!

Because VERY often you get dumb answers & answers that are truly wrong. They Must be thumbed down.

I wish they'd bring back the thumbs for questions.

some people think the world revolves around them, and if they don't like something, it sucks.

those kind of people don't like to think, (they're narrowminded not broadminded)
