Seriously, I chuckled. I didn't think about race at all, I just thought it was funny.

So why so much outrage?

I laughed too! Yes, it was funny, but the next thing out of my mouth was, "he shouldnt've said that."

Most people are outraged more because he added "ho's" to it, which is demeaning to any women.

Nappy Headed - Not Racist Ho - Not Racist But A ***** Will Imply It Is If A White Person Says It. It Was Done In Humor, And It Was Funny. Why Did They All Iron Their Hair Straight The Following Day For The News Conference? To Imply What Imus Said Was Not True When It Was.

Until he made that comment I hardly knew who he was. Racists or not he still has a right to speak whatever he wants to. Those stupid American Nazis know and practice free speech. If we are going to shut this guy down for saying nappy headed ho. Then why can't we shut these Nazis down?
All Sharpton and Jessie Jackson ought to be a heck of a lot more offended by the stupid Nazi group then a radio host with a bad sense of hummer. Of course TV doesn't cover that.
I don't believe these guys will ever do anything good for the black people. There to busy stirring the pot just so they can get there face on TV.

Only you know if you're racist. What I don't get is what's funny about it. Forget about the fact these young women have achieved tremendous success both athletically and academically. Even though they lost the final game, this was a shining moment for them--a moment they can be proud of forever and Imus made a racist comment. That's the memory they have to live with now. It doesn't matter that rap artists do it also. The fact that others do it doesn't make it right. I don't get why ridicule is funny. Why did you think it was funny? Show me the humor.

Well "nappy" is a derogatory term used in the past to demean people of African descent. However, is this case I found it to be more sexiest then racist. Personally, I really don't value his opinion, he's not even relevant to me. It wasn't funny it was degrading to the talented young women on the basketball team.

I feel the same way you do. I didn't as a racist comment. Even though I am black I didn't see it as a big deal, but just as a joke that was taken seriously. Anyone of any race can have nappy hair (people that have dreads), and anyone of any race can be a ho.

Calling anyone a ho is disrespectful, and when you add the nappy headed it is racial as hell. Those women worked and trained to get where they are and for some air headed newsman to show such disrespect to anyone was way beyond acceptable.

Yep, you're a racist.
Yep, you're sexist.
Yep, you're a non-thinking consumer.
Yep, you're lacking in critical thinking skills.
Yep, if someone else makes racist comments, and/or sexist comments then someone like you think it's ok for everyone to say them.
Yep, if someone else thinks racist and sexist comments are funny, you think they are too.
The gene pool needs a good cleansing.

No, few of us still have sense of humors. I laughed my azz off and didn't find it racist, just a little sexist. I can't stop saying it, LMAO.
