help on an easy math problem (solving for y)!?

Question

1. 5x + 2y = 10

2. -9x - 3y = -3

solve for y (get y alone).
for mula is y = ax + b

1) 5x + 2y = 10 (subtract 5x from both side)
2y = 10 - 5x (divide both side by 2)
y = -5/2x + 5

2)-9x - 3y = -3
-3y = -3 + 9x (add 9x on both side)
y = 1 - 3x ( divide both side by -3)
y = -3x + 1

We do the same thing here as before, move the -9x

-3y = -3 + 9x

Divide by -3
