Are there any large (1 million or more) US cities not on a large river, lake, or the ocean. e.g., Tucson, AZ (which is about a million including metro area)?

Chicago is on Lake Michigan, Houston is on the gulf, Dallas is on the Trinity, etc.

Houston, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Dallas and San Antonio all have populations well above a million and aren't located near bodies of water.

Houston, TX. About 47 mi. from the Gulf and 20 mi. from the ship channel. 4 and 1/2 million.

I don't understand this question. Texas? Do you mean what's the largest city (in terms of population) not surrounded by an ocean or sea, and not a peninsula either, like Florida?
