and long thin wings folded straight back on the body. Six legs of course arranged a bit like a mozzie! seem very docile and harmless, just a pain in the kitchen area. I live in east Manchester near (ish) a reservoir, Never seen them anywhere else and theres swarms of em !

They're probably incubating and going through the larvae maggot stage in your house. I'd try to get rid if I was you.

Gnats or mosquitos, depending on their size.Gnats are smaller.

sounds like carpet beetles...they like to be round food and crumbs......make sure you hoover....constantly.....
