im a freshman in high school and need to know if i should get a windows laptop, black macbook, or macbook pro. i'm going to have this computer since i graduate high school so, it has to last me a long time or until college and then i'll get another one. i am an amateur photographer so working with pictures is big. i need a computer that can let me edit my home videos so, the computer has to have excellent video editing software. i go everywhere with my current laptop so, small size has to work, but not too small. i need a computer that doesnt heat up or freeze a lot like mine does. and, should i get a glossy screen or a matte anti-glare finish? please help! thanks

If you're working extensively with digital media, go with a Mac! I have a PowerBook that I bought off eBay and still runs great (*knock on wood*). Go with MacBook Pro for power and longevity... if you weren't so big into photography and video, I'd say MacBook, but you can't compare the extra power that the Pro version gives you for those projects. The price tag definitely appears hefty, especially when compared to some of the Windows machines you can get.... but it works itself out in the long run because your Mac will run great for *years* beyond a Windows machine.

Unfortunetely macs heat up but rarely freeze up. Windows computers will do both (run hot and crash). Macs are the best choice for photographers. On my mac I was able to run Google Earth, the GIMP (photo editing better than photoshop), iMovie, and iDVD and it was still running fast (Macbook with 1gb ram, 80gig hard drive). The pros are bigger so they'd be ideal for photography. Macs last a while with good care to, they dont crap out after 3 years randomly. Get at least 80GB HD because with everything it comes with it only winds up being 62GB when they ship it. I'd get a 160gb Macbook Pro.

i could pass with the macbook as a results of fact it comes with iphoto which you are able to use to establish your pictures, non-compulsory be conscious utility, and is extremely transportable. because you're into pictures and choose a thank you to establish your pictures, the mac is an spectacular decision. The Mac e book professional is pricier and better to hold around with you. i think of that's extra pc than what you certainly need. I pay attention that HP additionally has some great computers so i could examine those out to boot. have relaxing paying for.
