There appear to be many people that still do not believe man has anything to do with the current warming trend that we are observing.
Given that the following oranizations have asserted that man is having an effect, what information do you have that makes you feel that they are all wrong?

Organizations:
IPCC ( Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change )
National Academy of Sciences
The American Meteorological Society
American Geophysical Union
American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
all have issued statements in recent years concluding that the evidence for human modification of climate is compelling (8).

FYI, between 1993 and 2003 there were 928 studies ( peer reviewed, published, scientific studies) and NONE of them asserted that man was not the cause of the current warming trend.

Again I ask, what information do you , the naysayers have, that makes you think that man is not the cause?

So far Mc is the only person to actually have information to back up his opinion. The rest of you should be ashamed. Idiotic responses like " because I have a brain" and ad hominiem attacks regarding Al Gore only make you look foolish and uneducated. Cute anecdotes about ants and personal observances have no place in a discussion such as this.
Information is king. data is key. Unless you have data to back up your assertions, your opinion is invalid.

The theory of man-made global warming is false, it is based on falsified or incomplete data. Lets take a look at what the global warming crowd claims, they say that the human output of CO2 is causing the greenhouse effect which is warming the planet. To see how outrageous this claim is try to guess how much of our atmosphere is made up of CO2, the correct answer is 0.03% of our atmosphere, almost nothing. How can such a small part of our atmosphere have such an effect on our entire planet, correct answer it can’t. Greenhouse gases exist naturally and have always been in our atmosphere. Greenhouse gases such as CH4 (methane), N2O (Nitrous Oxide), and water vapor are all put out into the atmosphere naturally in far greater concentrations than humans could ever match. Let’s take a look at water vapor, water vapor makes up between 1-4% of the atmosphere far more than CO2. Water vapor is given off into the atmosphere due to evaporation, so evaporation causes much more global warming than humans ever could. Other natural sources such as volcanic eruptions and the decomposition of plant and animal matter also put far more greenhouse gases than humans ever could.
So what is causing global warming? Well first of all the earth may not even be warming. http://wwwghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/temperature/ This is a collection of global temperatures collected by NASA that shows a general cooling trend especially around the polar ice caps. So assuming the earth is warming what could be causing it, the sun. Look at this graph also put out by NASA: http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2003/17jan_solcon.htm, it shows that the intensity of the sun is directly correlated to global temperatures and recent studies have shown that the sun is now warming than ever before, coincidence? I think not. Also consider that the other planets in our solar system, Mars in particular, are also warming: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/02/070228-mars-warming.html
You have to keep in mind that the earth goes through natural cycles of warming and cooling, take for example the ice age and later warming of the earth enough to melt the ice.
Advocates of global warming will try and post evidence but the fact is most evidence for global warming comes in the form of general statements like “think of your children/grandchildren” that try to guilt you into agreeing with them. These ads are devoid of scientific proof and seek to toy with your conscience. Every once in a while you will see a graph submitted as evidence mostly from http://www.ipcc.ch/. Take a look for yourself, I search in vain for proof of global warming on this site, sure there are dozens of graphs showing the same data: CO2 rising along with global temperatures but where are the graphs for other greenhouse gases that make up a greater percentage of our atmosphere and are put out naturally, or graphs showing the percentage of greenhouse gases put out by humans verses the gases put out by natural sources. These graphs are not included because they disprove the theory of man made global warming. The IPCC has had a questionable past, it has published a deliberately falsified graph, the so called hockey stick graph, which left out a period of warming during the 1400’s. This warming period in the 1400’s was more dramatic than what we are seeing today, and it took place long before humans industrialized. This falsification was proven and a reprint of the graph appeared in the journal Nature. You may have seen claims that there is a scientific consensus on global warming like this one: http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686, this is an absolute lie, do you need proof? Here http://www.oism.org/pproject/s33p36.htm the signatures of over 17,000 scientists who disagree with the theory of man made global warming (check out the report on this site it does an excellent job of disproving global warming). You may have also seen reports about ice cores supposedly proving global warming, this is not true. Here is the truth about ice cores http://www.john-daly.com/zjiceco2.htm.
You may have the question why anyone would support this obviously false theory, the answer is money. Average people with no scientific background are being converted to the global warming crowd by the dozens due to the repression of evidence against global warming. This mass of people is the reason why notable people are jumping on the global warming bandwagon. Politicians are supporting global warming for votes, scientists are joining for media time and grants, and CEO’s are pledging their allegiance to gain customers who want to shop where the environment is being supported.
You may also wonder why I care, you may think we can only help the environment if we agree with global warming what’s wrong with that? I want to distinguish between global warming and helping the environment. I have no problem with environmentalist causes, in fact I support them, but global warming is taking this idea to the extreme. If you were to follow the guidelines set forth by people like Al Gore your lifestyle would be, these people want to tell you what light bulbs to use. The main reason however is money, why waste millions on studying global warming when we could be rebuilding third world countries and helping the poor. Global warming is a fear tactic used to get your money and your vote by unscrupulous members of society. Hopefully this will just fade away like the global cooling scare which was brought upon us in the 1970’s by the same sort of people using the same tactics. A last link http://www.worldclimatereport.com/ possibly the best resource for answering many of the questions raised by global warming. I urge anyone who believes in man-made global warming to look into some of the resources I have presented. Do not sacrifice your money, time, vote, and conscience to the greedy members of society who are blinding you to the truth for their own greed.

After 50 years of intense study the vast majority of the world's scientists have jointly stated that they believe the current global warming and unique spike in greenhouse gases is man made.
Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and other conservatives are making a strong stand against this. Even president Bush has conceded that global warming is a fact. Several oil companies have hired a few rogue scientists to rebuke the consensus. Will science be correct? I think they have put in the better effort at understanding the cause. At least those who oppose them are now agreeing the the earth is warming up. At least most of those who oppose them.

Because I choose to take a pragmatic approach to everything I care about. The question about Global Warming just brings up lots more questions...

Does it exist?
If not, should I bother to read or think about it?
If so, should I do anything about it when there are real things in my life that need fixing and people around who can use my help in the immediate future?
If it exists and man created/is creating it, should I take any of the blame?

I choose to just answer no and remain ignorant about it. It's my right. I really don't even know why I answered this question.

Picture an ant hole. Millions of ants scurrying about doing their thing. If those ants produced some type of pollutant how long would it take for an area the size of a U.S. State to reach dangerous levels.

Global Warming is man made in the sense that it is fake!

The Sun is hotter - look at the rings of an old tree. From those rings you can get a specific picture from all around the world showing previous climate change. There have been droughts that have lasted 50 years and there have been ice ages. Its happened before, it will happen again and it has nothing to do with ignorant men!

You people are so stupid you can't even understand that a tree can answer your dumb question - you just choose not to look.

whilst the media is confident guy is the reason for international warming there is data that the earth is going via cycles of heating and cooling. many of the final million years ice lined maximum of the earth purely warming up approximately 15000 years in the past. From 800 to 1300 the climate replace into very heat and guy thrived, even interior the "darkish a protracted time". commencing in 1350 issues cooled off at as quickly as for the subsequent 500 years maximum of that have been depressing. foodstuff shortages led to famines, storms killed hundreds. In 1850 the cooling replace into over and because then issues have warmed up slightly and guy has thrived back even surviving a flu pandemic in 1918 and 1919 that killed hundreds of thousands of folk. that's a certainty that the earth warms and cools and blaming it on mankind isn't a actuality.

Because I personally do not believe that global warming exists. If it does, then it is natural changes in weather patterns and climate changes. Not created by man.
If man is to blame, then I believe it is caused by nasa, and other space agencies around the globe, poking holes in the atmosphere, and from the six thousand or so jet airliners streaking across the skies at any one period, just over the USA, not to mention those all around the globe. It is not the common person driving to work in the little four cylinder ford escort, but it will be the common man who will be forced to pay for it.

Does not believe than man is the 'cause' of global warming. Has no doubt that global warming is happening but I think it is the result of normal cycles within the earth and will happen with or without man. Now could the activities of man be accelerating or intensifying the effects? Sure.

Are they old enough to remember clear blue skies? I remember 30 years ago flying in a plane and seeing a clear horizon. Now, the horizon is brownish-grey haze wherever to look, and I am assuming it is this way all over the globe. No wonder that scientists have stated that it would take hundreds of years for our atomospher to clear up, if we were to stop all petroleum, and coal (major producers of pollution) burning at the present time. People that would like to go to Mars and burn poisonous gases have my permission to do so. But continued destruction of my environment will not be permitted.

Several reason
1. I have a brain

2. If Al Gore says it, I discount it

3. I have a brain

4. It is all a scam to get power for politicians and money for scientists.

5. I have a brain

6. It was much hotter when the Vikings settled in Greenland, but there is not geological proof that the oveans inundated the coastal areas. Some places in England are the opposite and in the "cooler" period since have lost land to the ocean.

7. Did I mention I have a brain.

I believe that this was coming for a long time, the earth constantly is moving on its axis and will continue to do so. Man had nothing to do with this global warming......God is the only one who knows.

We could certainly be doing more to protect the evironment, but for man to be blamed for everything on the planet suggests that we are more important to destruction of nature than we really are.

Nature will win. We will lose. We are not working for nature that is for sure. But we are not the threat to nature that we think we are.
