As a Bengals fan I can honestly say we didnt make enough plays when it counted. Droped balls by recievers in big moments, bad snap on a extra point, missed FGAs, all held Cincy back. No the Bengals didnt get cheated out of the playoffs, they lost it for themselfs. It should of never came to the Pitt game but it did, and once again they blew it.

They lost their last game to go to 8-8 on the season. No team tha finishes .500 got cheated out the playoffs. It doesn't matter if they lost all their game by 1 point - they still lost. All they had to do was win one more game and they would have had the tiebreaker over the Chiefs. But even then had Denver won their last game, the Bengals still wouldn't have made the playoffs because Denver would have had a better record. But I guess thats just not fair to send the team with the better record to the playoffs. From now on they just shouldn't even play the games. Whoever has the best teams on paper should go to the playoffs. Yeah lets do that so the Bengals don't get "cheated out of the playoffs" again this year.

A team with an 8-8 record is never "cheated" out of the playoffs. If a team can't even post a winning record, they didn't earn it.
Granted, their last three games (at Denver, at Indy, vs. Pittsburgh) were tough, but they should have won earlier games against Tampa Bay (weak!), Atlanta (Rudi Johnson only ran for 46 yards) and San Diego (How do you not win after scoring 41 points?)
Having players that rank way up some statistical or opinion-based charts does not win football games. Not letting your QB get sacked 36 times (as opposed to only 19 times in 2005) makes a bigger difference. And not having 24 turnovers (as opposed to 18 in 2005) also makes a big difference. And ranking 26th in rushing offense (as opposed to 11th in 2005) and tied for 31st in passing defense (a big drop from 5th in 2005) makes an additional difference.
Having highly-ranked players gets you a good fantasy football team. Having a highly-ranked TEAM gets you into the playoffs.

This is coming from the ultimate Bengals fan -- NOT GOOD ENOUGH. The Bengals only Losses when they were TRULY outplayed were the Patriot and Colt games. They were jobbed in Tampa (reported to me from a Steeler fan), choked against ATL and SD/LT, and gagged at Denver, Baltimore and against PIT in the finale.
Marvin has had this happen twice in the last 3 yrs and if the Bengals do not win the North then it is time to clean house.

Well when they were 8-5 I had them into the playoffs but of course they went on a three game losing streak were they lost their chance to get in the playoffs. If they really wanted to get in they shouldn't of lost to the Steelers

well, if they din'dt have all those criminals on the team, and stayed focused, they might have gotten in! 8 players were arrested during the year! thye just were not good enough! this year they will get in the playoffs! why? because the commissioner did the right thing by suspending that punk on their team for 8 games, costing him about 800,000 dollars in salary! marvin lewis will not allow the criminal element to take the bengals over again! one mistake, and you are off the team!! cheated?? no way, you sore loser! the colts deserved it!

What I want to know is how many hookers did Bill Belachek throw at his Raven's to get THEM to the playoffs. How the Ravens were on top of the Bengals in that division is beyond me.

Bad coaching and not finding a way to win. It doesn't matter who your players are if there not winners.

by making stupid mistakes, not winning enough games, and having too many players get arrested which causes distractions.
