Most tall skinny men appreciate the meticulous and zealous application of a knee to their groin area, which is why they go around saying stuff like that in local markets.

You should have simply told him to look around himself, if the grocery store dosen't look an inch like a basketball court, then he's making a wrong use of the height he seems to be so proud of.
You can as well tell him that the unique height he's so proud of, makes him look exactly out of place; it's just like a cattle rancher being present at a vegetarian convention....Make it sound polite!, it hurts better that way....

That's not even that bad, when i was a cashier at a grocery store an old man with duct tape covering his shoes and ankles and pants started making fun of me in a hateful manner for no reason. I never even saw him before.
But you should've told that man that you'd sit on his head if he didn't shut up. And follow through with your statement.
