At the same time 2 men were in love with me. That was the cake. I loved both of them back... I ate it too. Thrilling but not a good idea!

Of course, I know what that expression means; but I've always thought that it contradicted that meaning. For instance, if I cut a piece of cake and I take a bite of it, I effectively have my cake and am eating it too.

Yes, I had my cake and ate it too. Then I decided there were things I liked better than cake. So I say "Let them eat cake, and I'll eat other things".
If you can't figure that one out without my help, you are lost.

Yes, I did. Since this is a metaphor, letme speak in metaphor. I had my cake, but she let me try out some pie. She really didn't want me to have pie, so she got angry and left.

So, even if you think you can keep the cake, forget it. It does away wether you eat it or not.

Yes I crashed this banquet by mistake and some guy kept filling my wine glass no matter how much I drank I still had a full glass. Facking guy - I can't leave the table till I've cleaned my plate and drained my glass - left over from strict childhood - I finally told him to stop while I could still form words. True story.

Pretty much every birthday I have my cake and eat it too.

I don't know why folks say you can't. It's actually very easy.
