I think there's a real good chance of it, But I don't know what the reasons were. No hate mail please. I have a buddy, he and his wife who I love to death got into a argument, some shoving took place and she fell like 2 feet. The cops got called, he got prosecuted against her wishes, and for years he has played hell getting a job, buying a gun etc.
I don't condone what he did but they have never had a problem like that since, or I would have helped her leave him, their tempers just got the best of them.
So you know better than anyone, If he talks mean to you, or threatened to hit you in the past get him out of your house NOW.
Hope this helps

YES. He may not do it for a while cos right now he'll be really sorry, so sorry that you'll wonder why you ever doubted him. Your relationship will be wonderful, he'll be attentive and appreciate every little thing you do for him, maybe even bring you little gifts occasionally. Then you will start to get on his nerves, something will be wrong and it will be your fault. Maybe it wont be a hit, maybe he'll shove you, throw something, punch doors, then one day you'll get in the way or shout right back at him. THEN he'll hit. Am i right ladies? Just one more thing, you dont LET him hit you, you cant STOP him. its not you its him

Absolutely, he WILL hit again. And if you do nothing about the first time he hits, what's to stop him from ever hitting again?

MOST OF THE TIME YES! BUT IT ALL DEPENDS ON EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. IF YOU BOTH LOVE EACH OTHER THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD TELL HIM YOU WANT TO GO FOR COUNSELLINGS TOGETHER. LET HIM KNOW THAT THAT'S THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL STAY WITH HIM. IF HE SAYS YES, THEN THAT'S A START IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. DON'T ALLOW HIM TO DO IT A 2ND TIME. GOOD LUCK HUN KATHY

i don't think that is an absolute rule. why did it happen, was he shocked, how long have you known him, has he hit other women? a man should never hit a woman but i could forgive my husband if it happened once and his behavior was just as unacceptable to him as it was to me. if he had a history of abusive relationships such as slapping, pushing, name calling, explosive anger ect than i would expect the same thing to happen again.

If he has hit you once, be sure he will do it again! Don't let the "honeymoon" fool you. Next time he gets angry (be it by jealousy, work, alcohol or drugs) he will hit you again. Get away from him!

From personal experience they will do it again and more times than not each time is worse. One in a trillion will not after counseling but why take the chance?

More than likely.. if it happens again First pack your bags second tie him too the bed while he's sleeping and super glue his tool and hickory nuts to his leg Third call 911 Fourth leave and never look back.

Absolutely. This behavior is very likely to escalate. Once, my (ex) husband smacked me. I smacked him back and told him if he ever lays a finger on me again, I'd call the police and he'd never see his kids again. He never did. But I sure as hell wouldn't hesitate to do what I said !

Of course. Maybe not now, but eventually he will do it again. If you forgive and forgive, he will keep doing it. Dont EVER let a man intimidate you like that : ) !
