I work for STEINEL, who makes the most durable hand held heat guns available and I would like to find more applications in which people use heat guns. Please share what you do with a heat gun. If anyone is interested, go to www.steinel.net to register to win a heat gun each month of this year. Thanks.

Body shops use them quite often to remove decals and also to heat damaged plastic panels so that the dent can be pushed out.

Heat guns also come in handy when diagnosing a heat related automoblie electrical problem. Heat the sensor in question without wasting the time of warming up the car engine.

I normally use them to shrink heat shrink tubing around electrical connections, more often than not repairing OBD2 connectors when the operators drop them and break the connectors off. I've used them to form plexiglas bends, even warmed my hands when the shop was cold. Heat up cold sandwiches too. Good luck

I use a heat gun for many things. I recently used it to thaw out my driver's side door when it was frozen over night. I also use one to heat up the plastic hoses that go onto my pool filter and pump. that way I don't have to cut them off. they are just a bit smaller than the nozzle on the filter and you actually have to heat them up to slide them on. I also use them at work. I do automotive electrical work and prototype parts intallation. we use weller heat guns.
