I'm 12 too. I started wearing make-up in Oct. Don't try to hide it from your parents or put it on behind their backs, that might make them mad and then they might put it off even more! Try to compromise with them. Show them that you are responsible and can take care of your self! But when you get your first make-up set don't go over board with it! Use natural colors! I hoped I helped!!!

Well, first off, ask them if you can wear makeup for parties, so that way, they buy you makeup. Then, start putting a very tiny amount, almost unnoticable. That's what I did, so my parents couldn't really tell I was wearing any. Then gradually, increase how often and how much you wear, and your parents, hopefully, get used to it and won't take much notice. Of course, if they do notice, and seem upset about it, tell them that you plan on only putting a little, just to feel more confident and presentable, and stick by your word. To this day, I still don't wear a shtload of makeup, just enough to look more presentable and less tired. I suggest you do the same and keep the makeup low, so you don't lose confidence in your natural looks, and your skin won't be affected by it. Plus, an understanding parent should be okay with it. I only wear a thin layer of eyeliner, curl my lashes, and wear some lipgloss. I don't think you should foundation on a regular basis, only for photos or parties, as they damage your skin, don't let it breathe, and make you feel fake. If that doesn't work, then you could tell them that people are making remarks that you always look tired, and you want to appear less "tired" in the mornings by wearing just a teeny bit of makeup. Hopefully, your parents will buy it.

Well I was once at that age and tried over and over to convince my mom that I should wear makeup. It didn't work. So my advice is to start out slow. Ask to use clear mascara or gloss, or tinted gloss. Ask if you could get a consultation at a beauty counter to get ideas of products that you can use for a more natural look and then how to apply it. But my REAL advice is to not worry about that now, I'm glad I wasn't allowed to wear makeup that young. I didn't start until I was 16. Even then I wish I didn't. Makeup can age you and ruin your skin. I have friends that used makeup so much that they look 40 instead of 30. Your habits as a pre-teen will stay with you as an adult. Remember that makeup should accent your looks not create a fake person. Some friends I have wear a cake load of MAC makeup and when they remove it, they are scary and totally different. You have to be comfortable with and without. Don't try to grow up so fast! I hope this helps!

You are 12!!! You're in like what 5th...6th grade, why on earth would you need to wear make-up? At your age your skin is naturally clear and beautiful, so you don't need foundation, concealer,or powder. Your 12, so your shouldn't be dating or trying to impress any one...right? If you only want to wear it because other girls are DON'T! Just be yourself, confidence in yourself and the way you look naturally is way more attractive than a little girl trying to follow the crowd any way! Just wait a while! Enjoy being a kid! And trust me, when you finally do grow up and the real world slaps you in the face like a ton of bricks, you'll be praying to be a kid again! Don't rush, enjoy your simple life and stop trying to grow up so fast, it's not that great any way, there's chem tests, peer pressure you thought only existed in movies, and loads of other stuff you wish you didn't have to deal with. Now if your thinking, "I'm only 12, I don't have to deal with that stuff!", that is exactly my point. And a word to the wise, don't go behind your parents' backs and wear make-up any ways, it only shows your immaturity and proves their point that your too young to wear make-up. Well, i know this sounds harsh but it's oh so very true. So just slow down and for pete's sake enjoy being a kid!

HEY I AM 16 YEARS OLD AND MY MOM LET ME WEAR MAKE-UP when I turned 13! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is ask her calmly so that she doesn't get upset and then if she says no and you have tried your best......then forget about it! It isn't all that great anyway. No one makes fun of you for not wearing make-up until you are at least 15 so don't worry about it. * Let me tell you something though, when I was 11 years old, I put on a make-up to school and the next thing I knew I had whitish puss coming out of the side of my eye!!!! I freaked out and told my mom and she told me that if you are young and not that careful, it can get into your eye and create some thing called a "stie". It happens to SO MANY PEOPLE THROUGH MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL! Just to warn you! Hope this helped a lot! :) :) :) :)

My suggestion would be to start with one thing at a time. Ask them to let you start with a little no color lip gloss first to get them used to it. Then after a while add a light blush. Don't start with the eyes first though because eye makeup will be the first thing noticed whether done up right or wrong. Just remember that parents have a hard time letting us grow up so try to be patient and good luck!!!

Wait a couple monthes from the last time you asked and ask your Mom if you can wear a little blush or mascara.. See if you can convince her to go shopping with you for what she thinks is appropriate for your age.
If you want to wear it because the other girls are then don
't bother hun, you will learn that trying to follow what other people do won't make you happy =).

Omg im 12 i know how tht is just calmly tell them that you're growing up and you would like to try wearing makeup tell them they can look at it before you go to school because what parents fear is that they wont be in control so let them know if they think that you're wearing to much that you'll take some off after a while of this they will think you're responsible enough to wear makeup trust me

Honestly, your parents are right....you should wait! Don't be in such a rush to grow up! If you really want to wear makeup- ask them if it would be ok if you tried some lipgloss and maybe some light blush. Ask your mom to show you how to put it on! Maybe you could give her a "makeover" too- I'm sure she'd like that alot.

Why would a 12-year old want to wear make up? Your parents are well right to be concerned. Wearing make up makes you look older than you are and if you are a minor, that can be dangerous. What are you trying to prove by wearing make up? If you have friends of your own age wearing make up, perhaps you are mixing with the wrong crowd.
