Only when referring to the word or letter "I." For example, "I" is the word used to indicate the first person; or "I" is the ninth letter of the alphabet.

Can only be used in a statement about the letter I as Goddess has said. How about the 10 points as I also live in Brentwood, well Hutton actually but near enough! Have a good day

I can't think of a way to correctly write "I is" without any punctuation. With punctuation, there are a fair number of possibilities:
"I" is the ninth letter of the alphabet.
"I" is the first-person subject pronoun.
"The King and I" is a delightful musical.
"That is I" is grammatically correct; "that is me" is not.
"Alas!" said I, "Is he not coming to the party?"
And that, say I, is about it.

Awkard at best, the only time that MIGHT be correct is when using I as say a test question response. "I" is the correct answer, from among the choices "you", "he", and "they".

"I" is a pronoun.
=) The correct way to say it is: "I am", "I is" is never correct, at least to my knowledge...
