I get irritated at the fact that no one seems to notice that one of my coworkers is constantley slacking off. He stroles around all day, takes a 3 hour lunch everyday, is loud enough to disturb me while working, and gets upset when I bring it up just as a joke. The other day I asked him politeley to lower down his voice, and he shoutted at me, and told me to f*** off. He then went to my supervisor and made a complaint. My supervisor just laughed, and told me not to worry about it. But the slacking continues, every single day. It's irritating &*^%^&***$$%^*&!!!

Abusive behaviour like what you describe should be reported to your HR department if you have one. Going to your boss was the correct thing to do but if he is not taking some form of action then it's time to go to HR. I would not worry so much about the slacking off because that should show up in his review. Attempting to point this out will just cause you to be seen in a incorrect way. But the abusive behavior is a differnt matter. This should be handled.

If you have spoken with your boss and HR and still get no help then seek outside agencies for help and possibly see a lawyer. Or make the hard decision and find a new job.

I can't think of anything more disruptive than a slacker. Even worse is the slacker who bothers good employees by talking to them or others and visibly wasting time.

My solution is to keep my nose to the grindstone and ignoring slackers. When they stand around talking and screwing off, I think of ways of interupting their conversation with work related questions. That throws off their timing and hopefully holds up a mirror so they can see how worthless they are.

Write EVERYTHING down.
The incident
Time
Place, and
Who was there when it happened.
Keep this in a safe place at home, or in
a Bank box.
Tell no one. It might come in handy one
day if they want to fire these type people
and you are questioned.
I've been there.
Your Supervisor should have reprimanded
him for cussing at you.

their reason to be disillusioned to you is rather no longer your problem. that's their problem so why worry even trouble about this? If I were you i doesn't take something own at the same time as i do no longer comprehend this individual all proper (aquiantance, co-workers, "pretend chum" etc...) only ignore about them to expose you're more suitable and that tell them that you deserved to be respected.

Yes you have every right to feel angry. Him slacking is not fair to you or your other coworkers.

Tell your supervisor that his behaviour and failure to contribute is very upsetting
