I generally use glass cleaner (windex) and paper towels to clean windows and mirrors in my house. It seems that no matter the brand of either paper towel or cleaner I am left with streaks.

Any suggestions?

I clean for a living and always reading up on ideas. Using Windex is great. Also when your cleaning your mirrors make sure there is no humidity coming from the sun through the windows or the lights on by the mirrors. Also depending what your window are made of and mirrors if they are plastic glass you just use a rag with plan water and wipe with dry rag instead of paper towels. Some paper towels might have lotions in them get one with none too.
Hope this helps.

My window cleaner told me he uses a vinegar and water mixture. He also uses a fabric squeege but told me the old fashion newspaper idea works great. He told me paper towels are part of the problem with the weave mixture they are made of. I also find that window and paper towels leave streaks but for quick clean up, it's a must.

Clean glass windows and doors w/ a bucket of warm water containing 1squirt of dishwashing detergent or 1 cup of vinegar per gallon of water.

Work from the top down. Apply the solution w/ a sponge or soft cloth. If necessary, scrub stuck-on grime w/ a soft vegetable brush. Finish off w/ a squeegee or streak -free chamois.

Also if you have small holes in your window-panes, a little clear nail polish will seal the hole almost invisibly.

I think that it is almost impossible to get streak free windows - but - by the far the best way for me is to use windex and I think the key is newspaper to clean the windows. It gets your hands filthy with newsprint - but it does the best job. The price is right also!!

The best way I know is the old fashioned way , NEWS PAPER, With water and a small drop of vinegar, just take a sheet dip in the water and wipe , No streaks . Just remember to use gloves you don´t want ink all over your hands

Try the microfiber cloths. They work great!! I use the glass only cloth by Unger. It works wonders! no streaks and no lint because the fibers are so short on this cloth. And...it's washable :o) so it lasts a long time. You can also use the regular ones that are available at most Home Depot's (I only trust the Unger brand microfiber cloths).

need to make sure you get the whole surface wet with cleaner and you have to keep wiping until the surface is completely dry as you are wiping you can feel the paper towel drag on the surface where it is still wet good luck

I use the Windex cleaner and wipe with the dish towel/teatowel/cloth that you use for drying your glassware.

Use whatever cleaner you like, but to get a streak-free shine always use newspaper (black and white, not color), instead of a towel or papertowel.
