Are Guinea Pigs good pets?

Nerver had one but yes they ARE! I know people whove had them and theyre vey sweet animals and its easy to care for them. Youll need a decent sized cage w/lotsa room and youll need to keep the place clean and you can spend time with them withoout the hassle that comes with a a dog or something. Good luck!

Yes they are great pets. They love to snuggle in your lap, run around the floor, and EAT!!! They are so cute and sleep at night unlike hamsters. Guinea pigs always come out when you open the cage door (only if you spend time wth them and livedw/hem for 1-6 months; they are shy when you first get them. But they are a lot of care. They need 1-2 hours of exercise a day, timothy hay twice a day, and fresh foods twice a day. They need lots of Vitamin C! My gguinea pig got scurvy which is lack of Vitamin C and survived (very rare). And, with good care and yearly vet checkups, can easily live 5-8 years.

Guinea pigs are excellent pets. I got my first one about 2 years ago and i love him so much. The only thing is that they can be annoy because they always want attention.

Yes, but don't go to a Pet Store, the ones there are very scared and could take awhile to get used to human handeling, go to a humane society and adopt one, they are used to human contact, thats where I got my little boy. He comes right to the cage door when I come in the room, and will sit on my lap and eat food from my hand.
But, you have to make sure they are eating the correct food, and have a clean cage, otherwsie they get sick.

they are fab pets!! especially for children they are friendly, easy to care for and so cuddly. i had guinea pigs when i was a child and used to breed them. i would recomend them to anyone.(i have just bought two baby guinea pigs and pick them up in two weeks)

Oh! They are so wonderful! I had one as a kid. She was big and fat when I got her - and I named her Mama Cass. Shortly after I brought her home - she had four babies on Christmas day. (Thus the extra weight) She didn't require as much care as a dog or a cat - and yet - she was quite tame and would sit with me on my lap when I took her out fo the cage. She would squeel everytime our refridgerator was opened. I gave her away to a younger kid in the neighborhood when we moved to a "no pets" home. I was very sad.

Go to the pet store and check them out. They are very cute - and can be lovable too.

If you have the time to devote to them (including weekly cage cleanings), the care to properly feed them, and the finances and foresight to keep them healthy, then, yes, they are good pets in the same way that babies are good children.

If you fail on any of these points, then please get some other animal.

Yes, they are sooooo cute! I used to have one. But if you dont like a lot of noise..then don't get one..they squeal..but it's a very cute squeal! Also it gets VERY smelly...which means you have to change their cage pretty often!
