It made me understand and have compassion for outcasts.

It made me stop and question authority.

It taught me to see through the masks everyone wears.

It explained why I am terminally unique.

Because I have been forced to think outside the box, all my life, it gave me better color and design sensitivity.

It has certainly given me a greater personal interest in politics and government, as well as some insight into what it must be like for other historically marginalized ethnic, religious, and social groups. There is also a sense of "belonging" that might be missing.

Otherwise, I don't think that the mere fact that I'm gay has necessarily "enhanced" my life; if I were straight, I'd be the same person. The event that enhanced my life the most was coming out to myself, my family, and my friends; I'm a much more positive, caring, politically active, and compassionate person because of it.

Being G, L, B, or T? or Being HONEST about being G, L, B or T?

Makes a difference.

Being HONEST about who I am has definitely enhanced my life in numerous ways. Just being G, L, B or T is indifferent.

1: I no longer have to lie to my friends or family
2: I have found a wonderfully supportive and loving relationship with my family that I thought I could never have.
3: I have been able to teach my son, through example, of how to be an honest person.
4: I have found the love of my life
5: I'm still enjoying the discovery of new people within this community.

I can't say that it has enhance my life at all. I do think being gay has made me a more compassionate and tolerant person. I grew up with people suspecting that I was gay and it was extremely hard for me. my life didn't get enhanced until i came out the closet.

1.Opened my eyes COMPLETELY to why tolerance is such a beautiful thing.

2.Being involved with another woman has shown me that I CAN love passionately and feel love requited back to me 100%

3.The gay community itself has given me such a strong foundation. I love being a part of something that has fought so hard and continues to fight for full equality.

4. My life has been enhanced ever since i came out to everyone because i was able to see who my TRUE friends are and who was just in it as long as I lived a lie & appeased them. Im so much better without the few who weren't genuine.

5. I'm just a better person period, being so consumed and knowledgeable about my heritage (Black & Puerto Rican) AND my sexuality. Both are so special to me and im PROUD of who I am.

I have no idea - I have never been anything else.

My life has been pretty good so far, and I have some great friends who are also lesbians ... so maybe my life has been enhanced by the great lesbian friends I have.

I would still be me if I was straight...but I think that it has made my friends more open and understanding, as many of them didn't really have a close gay friend before me! ;)

I can't even name one.

The only difference between me an a straight dude is "sex".

Thus, I don't believe that my gay sexuality has positively influenced my life at all.

I'm just a normal guy.
