I promise, if we get this tank set up right, I'll dance at all your weddings! Anyway, my 30 gallon tank will now have 3 rosey barbs, 2 dwarf gouramis, 1 tetra (need more of those), 3 mickey mouse platys. The 5 Tiger Barbs live alone now and the shark is going to the local community college bio dept. So I'd like a really nice bigger fish who can live with the others and I'm done stocking. What is a nice fish to get as I'd like to have at least one bigger fish? Thanks for all your help!

How about one beautiful angel fish? OR how about one or two large gouramis?

It's hard to say. I have a 30 gal. tank also. So i feel what you are saying about bigger fish. I always ask my petstore (petsmart, they really knows fish). I have 2 gouramis, 2 rosy barbs, x-ray, mickey mouse, guppy, and a crab. With tropical fish you can't get really big fish. The big ones are aggressive most of the time. Cichlids are big fish, but you can't add them together which really sucks. The only fish that i know gets really big is the angel fish, which is really aggressive to new fish you add. *Starlite*

I don't know what size your rosy barbs are, but they can get to 4-5.5" each - and the males are quite showy as adults in breeding colors: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=1010

If you get more tetras (a school should be 6+), you may want to stop at this point so you don't overcrowd the fish as they grow.

The first thing that comes to my mind is an Angel fish. Should fit right in and not outgrow your tank.

how about a plecostomus? you know....a "sucker fish".

it would help with any extra algea and wouldnt be a threat to your other fish.or if you dont want something that big, try this site:

i like the "livebearer". it says it can grow to be 4 inches or more.
