Anyone know of a good hotel that is reasonably priced in Gettysburg, PA? I am going to play golf at The Links at Gettysburg and want to spend the night someplace closeby. There are a lot of hotels listed when I do searches, but I am confused of their locations and quality.

I used to visit Gettysburg twice a year when I lived in Virginia 17 years ago and all the hotels were nice, clean and well run.

I went back there a couple of years ago and I was so disappointed in the same hotels that I took my family 30 or 40 miles out of town to find a decent...clean hotel. The management of all but 1 or 2 hotels in Gettysburg had changed hands to a different.....style & flavor.

I suggest contacting towns outside of Gettysburg. I regret that the experience that staying in Gettysburg has changed that drastically....at least in my opinion.

Enjoy your trip.

There are a lot of nice hotels in Gettysburg, PA. Try the Best Western Gettysburg Hotel. It is right on the circle in the center of town right in the thick of the restaraunt district. They don't have the cheapest rates, but it's still small town cost. There are some nice restaraunts such as Wolfe's pub across the street and the Gingerbread Man. There are also some great golf courses such as The Links at Gettysburg, Penn National, Carroll Valley, and Bridges.

I would check out the Days inn - Gettysburg. It is close to the Gingerbreadman house as well as the battlefield and battlefield tours. You are about 3 miles from town center, but if you love the Civil War, this is the hotel you want to stay. The rates are a little cheaper than the Best Western and you can make you reservation on line on their website.

Funny you should post this message because I am also looking for a hotel in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I see there are plenty of bed and breakfast places but what about some larger hotels like hilton, marriott etc. I'm golfing with a few of my buddies at Cedar Ridge this weekend yet we don't really have a place to stay yet....When you get responses to this question, please forward them to me by hitting my profile. I would appreciate it.
