What about your prom dress(es)?

Another curiosity thing? If you were married more than once, did you save *all* the dresses? Or just the first one?

No, I did not. As a matter of fact I donated mine to a great organization called Making Memories, that sells new and gently used gowns at trunk sales and then uses the proceeds to grant wishes to women who are in the late stages of breast cancer.
My sister, on the other hand, tried to preserve her dress, and it didn't work. And it's hanging in my parents' house on the back of a door with yellow sweat stains all over it ... what a waste. No one will ever use it. I suppose you could cut it up and use some of the material. She doesn't even like her dress anymore, I can't imagine one's daughter would like their dress years later. I think maybe in the old days when wedding dresses were constructed better and the material used was more organic, maybe they would last longer or be preserved better.

Got rid of the first one. And got married before a judge this time and don't have a dress :(. But I want my daughter to have her very own dress, something that means something to her. Shes only 9 mo old, I don't think she will be getting married anytime soon ;)
Didn't have a prom either since I was homeschooled, sigh...sucks to be me...

I borrowed a wedding dress. The whole wedding dress thing wasn't important to me. I've been married 28 years. My daughter wouldn't want to wear a 28 year old wedding dress; she would want something new.

I didn't have a wedding dress, because we didn't have an actual "wedding". We just got married by law. [I'm a run-away, lol]
My prom dress, I still have, and if she likes it, which I'm pretty sure she will, it's very unique, she can use that one!

Oh, yes. She'll never fit into it though. I had average sized boobs, a teeny-tiny waist and some nice junk in the trunk. My daughter is very well endowed in the chest, an average waist and less junk in the trunk. I'll never sell it though, you never know when a granddaughter might want to wear it.

i saved my one and only wedding dress, but if my girl doesn't want to use it, no hard feelings! i mostly saved it because I wanted to save it... My prom dress... no i got rid of that hideous thing years ago! heeheehee (it's scary to think that I liked it at one time!!)

I saved my wedding dress, and had satin pillows made out of it and put my kids names on them for keepsakes.

No. I had a suit made out of it and it was a beautiful white and lace top suit. I still have it but it's too short to wear.
