A bunch of new people have moved into the condo community that I live in and they are constantly listening to rap as loud as it'll go.
I hate rap- it's not music and it's insulting to females.
I can't talk to these people because I don't know them...Should I just crank heavy metal (my music) since I know my stereo is louder than theirs?

I don't like rap...but that's not the point. They're playing it REALLY loud...I'm at the other end of the condo and I can hear it like it's right beside me...

I'm not moving out. I've lived here longer. They just moved in and they think they own the place. They don't!

Umm yeah. Crank your heavy metal. We all have different tastes in music and we all are never gonna agree (me personally, I enjoy rap, hip hop, and r&b).. but it is disrespectful for them to do that because they live in a community with other people and it is not just them by themselves.

no you should put a note on their door asking them to keep it down and if that doesn't work call the police... don't fight ignorance with ignorance... but the real question is are you upset because they are playing their music loud or is it just because its rap??? The police will make them turn it down if it violates the noise ordinance...

Talk to the apartment manager...there are rules against those things and if that doesn't work call the police...make sure it's bacause the music is really too loud though and not just because you hate their taste and just happen to hear it.

Talk to the landlord.If it coninues, go right ahead with your heavy metal.I like heavy metal and its pretty darn louder than the rap.

where i really like your idea it could end up in trouble for you if you don't have a someone to complain to (like a condo committee or something like that) find someone who doesn't care they don't know them or just call the cops and file a formal noise complaint that should shut them up

i would. the only thing worse then rap is heavy metal. maybe then you both will get kicked out and every one around you can live in peace.

You should check with the property management company that manages your property.
If that doesn't work then call the police.
Turning up your music is senseless.
