If you are having a lot of pain, go for it. Make sure you find someone covered under your insurance plan and see at least three before deciding. My insurance covered 100% of my surgery (some companies pay anywhere from 50-100%).

http://www.bfar.org talks about breastfeeding after reduction. I was told I would have no problems because he did not remove my nipples (Free Nipple Graft) from my breast. My PS has had many other women with reductions be able to breastfeed.

There is also another good site for you... It helped me out a lot for my surgery...

Hi there, well I am only 21 and don't have children either, yet I am having my Breast Reduction next week. I figured that if I get it done now then there will be less work to be done on them as they don't sag at all, but if I didn't get them done and then had kids imagine how huge they would grow. As for being able to breastfeed well some women with big breasts can't anyway as the ducts are blocked by fatty deposits- I am pretty sure that I would be able to breast feed but I kind of don't want to anyway so it doesn't matter if I can't.

If they do happen to grow when you are pregnant they shouldn't grow too big as so much of the fat and breast tissue will be cut out of them with the reduction- and they should go back to shape pretty quickly.

I think definetley go for it- good luck with your decision :)

If you have health insurance you might see if it will cover part because it's effecting your health. As far as the before or after thing, logically I'd say after. Some women need a little pick-me-up after they have kids anyway, so kill two birds with one stone. Also, it's possible that a surgery could prevent you from breast feeding, but highly unlikely. If it's causing you too much discomfort though, go for it. Really, you're the only one that knows how you feel.
