i am getting so pissed at them. someone has to tell them to shut up!
how to tell if your a buffalo bandwagoner:
1. you started following the sabres last year.
2. you think they are the best team ever. not just this year, EVER
3. you think miller is the best goalie in the league. better than brodeur, luongo, hasek, etc.
4. you have a jersey with the buffaslug
5. you didn't know the buffaslug was new
so please buffalo bandwagoners, do us a favor and go away

I consider myself a Sabres fan however,
I do not have a Buffaloslug jersey, but I do have a signed Buffalo LaFontaine jersey.
I do not think Miller is the best goal tender, Brodeur does have the better stats.
I was at the longest Sabres playoff game.
I have 2 signed Hasek sticks from when he played in Buffalo.
I watched them loose to the Flyers way back in the 70's
I have a "No Goal" tee-shirt
and I have not lived in Buffalo for 10 years. Do you consider me a "true fan"

You should try being a legitimate long-time Sabres fan with all these dummies around giving you the reputation as stupid screaming drunken idiots and puck bunnies. I can't find anyone to talk hockey with because as soon as it's not the Sabres, they're clueless and disinterested. They don't realize there are goalies besides Ryan Miller or forwards besides Max Afinogenov. They don't even remember when Dominic Hasek was a Sabre or the heartbreak of the 1999 finals, and that was less than ten years ago! You can't be a true blue (and gold) Sabres fan if you have no sense of the team's roots (as in knowing who the French Connection were, recognizing half the broadcast team as former Sabres, having weathered two or more seasons of sub-par play and remaining a fan kind of roots). PLEASE if this is you, Buffalo has a nice lacrosse team that could use a fan-base. I hear they win games, and the tickets cost half as much as Sabres tickets. If you must stay with hockey, GO ROOT FOR PITTSBURGH OR SOMETHING!

P.S. I'm only 19, so I obviously don't remember all the things I talked about, but I know them because that history is part of who Sabres fans and Sabres players are. I remember everything from 1999, when I became conscious of the greatest sport ever invented, up until this season, good and bad; heartbreaks and miracles alike. And the slug is gawdawful.

Bandwagoners are a fact of life. I'll bet you could apply that label to 90% of sports fans. Meanwhile, I'll bet half the people you apply this to really aren't. That said, I agree with your assessment of what a bandwagoner is!

Here is the thing, though. If you are not a Buffalo fan, then you are totally biased. Your beef is likely just that your team isn't as good as theirs. Would you get upset if everyone liked YOUR team? Probably not. If you ARE a Buffalo fan, then you should just be glad your team is finally good enough to have bandwagoners. It is about time.

I laughed back in 1998. I was wearing my Red Wings jersey at school, and someone asked me if I was a bandwagoner. The next day I came to school in a Detroit Lions shirt and a Tiger cap (they both sucked, in case you didn't know). Everyone that likes a good team is not a bandwagoner. The ones that are? Who cares? I think you're making a big fuss out of nothing.

Irs funny how all these fans of other teams, never cared about the Sabres, until now. Since they are winning, now you want to rip the fans. Its sad that you worry about everybody else, and not your own teams. Leafs fans, wew didnt make the playoffs, but we hate buffalo band wagon fans. Then there are all these Pengo fans. Where were you guys, when you were stinking up the league, and soiling the ice??? Dont be a hater, just because the Sabres, rolled you favorite team a few times this year, Be mad because they will probably do it again next year. HAHA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone thinks this city (yes I live in Buffalo) is full of bandwagon fans.
I've got news for you, most of them really are not.
We have been through some really hard times being a fan of them, the Sabres have not done very well for along time.
Well, now they are doing well, we are excited.

I watched the interview with Marty Biron a week or so ago,
he was (I still concider him a Buffalonian *sigh* We miss our Marty) been a player here for 13 years (so he knows what he's talking about) and he just backed up everything I just said.

P.S. Ryan Miller is awesome.

I have been a Buffalo Fan all my life and all I can say is it is about time! We have had some good runs in the past Bills (Nuf said) and Sabres in 75 and 99 (no goal) Not to mention the tennessee miracle and the canes game 7 last year. we finally have a team to brag about so let us do our bragging. I have been a life fan so I have the right to brag. Unlike these bandwagoners which all I can say is join us keep rolling the money in to the organization.

C'mon, there are moron fans in every town.

You wanna talk band wagoners--how 'bout them 'Canes? Those people hadn't even seen a puck before last year and all of a sudden they're hockey's gift from God?

Been a HOCKEY fan all my life, have good things and bad to say about every team. There are always those that will only back a winning team, they aren't fans and they don't count.

If we hoist this year I will feel very deserving to celebrate as I never miss, never desert and never fail in my love and loyalty. If we don't, I'll be back next year and every year until I'm dead, and even then I'll be watching.

You pay way too much attention to people that aren't worthy of your attention.

Buffalo has many die hard loyal fans that have watched for 35 years, no one can say this team isn't good or hasn't earned it. But they've still got to win the games and it's anyone's Cup until someone does just that. 16 wins---who will get it done?

Go, Go Go MY SABRES, MY BOYS!

I dont think they are the best team EVER but i do think they are a solid team.
Miller is DEF not the best goalie.ugh i hate him hes so overrated.
I have a Tallinder Jersey that is the white old jersey..well not old but like how lasts years look...even though i do have an old school one as well..and i have a Tallinder jersey because he is my favourite player and I def think hes one of the more underrated guys on our team...hes prob our best defender..
The Buff Slug..haha i have to get used to that still..but that isnt the most important thing..lord stanley is!

oh and yes im sick of bandwagoners..

Don't let these people on the forum get to you. There idiots. True fans and true connaiseurs of the NHL don't say stupid things like they do and have legitimate reasons to back up their favorite team. I like Buffalo and i'm cheering for them but only becuz i think Lindy Ruff deserves a taste of that cup. He's been the sabres coach for 10 yrs and went threw hell and back with his daughter's illness last year. They should give him the Bill Masterston's trophy.
