I've heard of women taking prenatal vitamins to help w/ hair and nails. There is absolutely nothing unhealthy about taking them b/c after all they are vitamins. Just be sure that you eat with them b/c they are strong and can make you feel sick.

Prenatal vitamins are taken by more people then you think. My doctors put me on them long before I ever got pregnant and when my husband and I compared the vitamin amounts to his over the counter to my prenatals they were almost the same the only difference is that the prenatal vitamin increases the folic acid iron. I recommend taking them as a regular vitamin even if you don't care about your hair they are really good for you.

The OTC ones are just as good as the prescribed ones. The OTC ones have all the vitamins that you and baby need. The prescribed ones usually have a bit more vitamins in them. So either way your good. I get the One A Day prenatal vitamins, $13 for a month supply. Missy Oldest son Dylan (4), 20 weeks 5 days with Daniel

Just think on this. Women take prenatal because its everything in a pill that helps the baby and the mother when she is carrying the baby. What a great vitamin to take even when your not carrying a child. I have adult children who have been taking prenatal and have not had children. Its an Excellent form of vitamins.!

There is definitely no harm in taking prenatal vitamins. You can get them over the counter, or have your doctor write an Rx for them. They contain different levels of certain vitamins than you would find in a simple one-a-day vitamin as they are generally used during pregnancy. I still take them and my son is 15 months old. I have personally found that it does help with the texture of my hair, as well as stronger nails.

Prenantal vitamins are fine to take anytime and yes they will help your hair and nails grow faster and your nails will actually be stronger and they make your hair shiny-er. haha i dont know how to spell that one. sorry.
i took them before i got pregnant and it helped my hair grow a lot faster. All prenatal vitamins are, are like..extra strength vitamin pills. if that makes sense....they wont harm you in any way. if anything they can make you healthier! you never know..you just may feel a little more energized throughout the day!!!
Good luck with your hair!! I know it helped me out!

Yes, your hair will be long and thinck and healthy. I do think they have something extra that over the counters don't, so I'm supposing you'll have to go through your doctor or else just take regular women's multivitamins.
Prenatal vitamins grew my hair LONG through 3 pregnancies!!
