The world is a big place. Really. Don't let the age of cheap air travel fool you. The world also has an INCREDIBLY complex climate system. If it got consistently warmer over 100% of the globe due to global warming then it truly would be remarkable. This is simply not the case - and anyone who says this is so is really very foolish.
For instance, increased melting of sea ice from global warming means the seas will be more diluted. This will disrupt ocean currents, a HUGE determiner as to what the climate will be like. Some parts will be significantly colder than others because they have no warming effect from the hot water and air that come via ocean currents. Western Europe should be a frozen wasteland like Labrador - it's on the same latitude. Instead Glasgow will have milder winters than New York - despite being a good 400 miles further north. Without the gulf stream western Europe will freeze.

Sorry about that. I can only say it's a good thing global warming kept the blizzard from being even worse. I'll be there when global warming makes it 33 degrees and the snow melts.

Interesting that these Yahoo "top contributors" seem to revel in their ignorance of climatology. How do you get those gold bars? Do you buy them? One more time. The average temperature of the atmosphere goes up. The polar ice caps begin to melt. The release of fresh water into the oceans disrupts the currents that take cold water from the north and south latitudes to the equator and warm water from the equator to the north and south. Ironically global warming will probably lead to an ice age. Trust closed minded people to look at an oncoming ice age as a sign of vindication.

Al Bore would have thanked us, don't you think?!

Wasn't invited, thank you.
Maybe you need to learn the meaning of the words "climate", "micro climate", and "weather".
But don't worry. Keep your head in the sand. As usual, reasonable people are trying to do all we can to preserve what is left of earth and to reverse the ongoing destruction.

If weather and climate have nothing to do with each other, then how does climate get warmer? How is it measured? How does a warmer climate affect us, as long as the weather stays warm?
Sorry i didn't make it to your party, you forgot to put where it would be, and i got lost... :(

Couldn't get my Al Gore/Howard Dean costume from the drycleaners in time. That is inconvenient truth! That and the roads were too icy to drive!

What you are experiencing now is Local Cooling. Hint: Global and Local are antonyms. Another hint: Antonyms are words with opposite meanings.
