First of all, if you are free falling you would not be able to walk This would be the same if you walked into an elevator shaft and tried to walk out just before you hit the bottom.
The only way to get off the elevator would be to push the back wall. As you push the wall, the wall will push you back.For every action, there is an equal but opposite action.
But you are free falling. You would still hit the ground outside the elevator at the same speed.

Yes, because you are still falling. You would still hit the ground with the same amount of force. The only benefit that you get from stepping out of the lift is that the roof of the lift will not hit you when it collapses, since you are now out of its way.
