Billboards (paper) are an infinitely small part of the total paper consumption in this country.

The reality is that digital billboards are still a very small fragment of the nation's billboard total. (The numbers I saw recently indicated that there are still fewer than 1,000 digital billboards in use at this time.)

Other uses of paper continue to grow. The "paperless society" never happened. Catalogs sent by mail are still consuming forests daily. And even though newspapers are losing subscribers, the price of newsprint is not going down; it's going up.

So, to answer your question, digital billboards will not make paper any cheaper.
